Kyla van Buren ‘15 is a second year from New York who is currently floundering around. She is considering a major in either Politics or Environmental Studies, but is also passionate about a wide range of fields such as journalism, history, and music. For the past few years, Kyla has been involved in projects and studies related to sustainable and affordable development and agriculture. She is excited to work on Fearless and Loathing this year and to use investigative journalism to explore issues and topics on Oberlin’s campus. Above all, Kyla has learned the most in her life from getting to know people. She is looking forward to making F+L a place where Oberlin students can start conversations and share their ideas and perspectives.
Kitt Disston ’15 is a second-year Psychology major from Connecticut. She’s interested in feminism, food and the artist formerly known as Prince. She works for F+L because she is committed to providing and contributing to the Oberlin community through an engaging, independent news source.
Alicia Gaber ‘14 intends to major in English, GSFS, Sociology, or something equally useless. She hails from Houston, TX and in addition to being the copy editor of F+L she serves as Co-Chair of the Oberlin Swing Society and is the local dance coordinator for blues. She also teaches ESL to high school students from the Oberlin community. Alicia joined Fearless and Loathing at the end of her first year as copy editor, hoping to rid the world of dangling prepositions. Though grammar will always be her first and greatest love, Alicia is positively tickled to be part of such an amazing and talented group of writers, thinkers, and entrepreneurs, providing Oberlin students excellent and independent coverage.
Sybil Levine ‘13 is majoring in psychology and religion with a focus in ethics. She is a proud southerner hailing from the great Nashville, Tennessee. Sybil has been involved in athletics on campus including her current participation with the Rhinos, Oberlin’s women’s rugby team. She works for Fearless and Loathing because the students involved in this organization are forward thinking and determined individuals who, together, make a strong team of which she is proud to be a part.
Opinion and Commentary Editor
Sarah Katz ‘15 is an English Major and Hispanic Studies minor from Philadelphia, PA. When she isn’t editing or writing for F+L, Sarah is tutoring at Oberlin High School and running the Languages of Oberlin College and Oberlin High School (LOCOHS) program. As a new member of the F+L staff, Sarah intends to help make the site as great as it can be. She is excited to be part of a community of people who are as interested in Oberlin’s culture and events as she is.
News and Features Editor
Tzipora Lederman ‘13 is Politics Major with a minor in Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies. Though she is coming towards the end of her Oberlin experience, she still is not sure what is next. She has spent her college years writing (ranting?) about politics and feminism and would love to continue that after Oberlin. She is working for F+L because she wants to become a better writer and can learn a lot from working with the talented students engaged in F+L.
Arts and Entertainment Editor
