“Girls” Season 2: Real Talk

Sunday, March 16 marked the season finale of everyone’s “favorite” show, Girls. Two seasons in and we’re still not entirely sure how to feel about this show (mostly because every character is a spot-on description of our ourselves crazy and unlikeable). Through the good and the bad, we’ve stuck by our anti-Sex-and-the-City New York gals as they’ve gyrated their way through the Brooklyn scene. But what has been “the good” and what has been “the bad”? Sometimes it may seem hard to tell (are we laughing or are we embarrassed because we did the same thing last weekend?) but, to help you out, here’s a short list of the Best and Worst of Girls Season 2. Disclaimer: I had to search and search for non-nude pictures. It was hard.

Time For Some Oscar Criticism

Every year when Oscar season rolls around, the buzz is always about what will win the esteemed title of “Best Picture.” However the question, “What do you think will win?” is usually followed by, “What do you think should win?”—and the answers are rarely the same. The somewhat-obsessed movie-goers read reviews, criticize the critics (yes, there are those of us that appreciate a good, pretentious A.O. Scott jab), and analyze the outcomes. But just because we assumed that the winner of Best Picture would be Argo or Lincoln doesn’t mean we believed them to be the best picture of the year.
