Stone Creek Boutique is a head shop off of route 252 in Columbia Station. It’s about a 30 minute drive from Oberlin and pretty easy to get to. Yesterday, I set out to discover if it was worth the trip.
Although I found the interior of the shop pretty generic, I was extremely impressed with their prices. Bongs range from about $25 to $100+ dollars, glass pipes average about $25, and they have some smaller metal smoking devices for cheaper. They also have a large selection of rolling papers and grinders for reasonable prices.
I talked to the clerk for a while about their other products–hemp jewelry, incense, decorative glass items, hippie-ish clothing, and various other knickknacks. He told me that the owner buys most of these things from local creative types. Some of the cloth goods looked like they were pretty good quality and the clerk said a lot of them were handmade, but who really goes to a head shop to buy a blanket?
My favorite part of the store is the glass blowing station in the back, where the owner crafts unique pieces. Unfortunately, they buy most of their pipes and bongs from both local and nonlocal distributors, probably for economic reasons. Regardless, if you want to see some cool hand-blown glass or pick up a cheap bong, Stone Creek Boutique delivers quality and selection.
